MA Alumna Utilizes her Artistic Practice for Social Change
These are indeed unprecedented times and within in it Patrice Payne, MA 2010 continues to utilize her artistic practice as a catalyst for positive social change.
Patrice's involvement in creating Black Lives Matter murals in New York has justifiably garnered a good deal of press. It should come as no surprise to those who know Patrice well that she is an artist and educator who remains committed to matters of social change. Her MA thesis "From Self-Expression to Self-Discovery: Using Art to Cultivate Identity " through an autobiographical lens examines the power of the visual arts in identity formation.
